About Me
AND HOW I GOT HERE
My name is Rett, I grew up in Minnesota to a Family of 9. I accepted Jesus into my heart at the young age of four, manly so that I could go to heaven and escape hell, and God continued to grow my faith in Him throughout my years.
I met my wife, Kim, in Highschool where we continued to date into college. We are currently married with 2 children (and 2 cats) Ryan and Cecilia.
God has been moving in our lives in many different ways, but one of the biggest ways is preparing us for missions in Japan. A key milestone marker in this journey would be back in 2016. I had lost my unsatisfying and demanding engineering job and at the same time found a strange sense of fulfilment in leading small groups at church. While looking for jobs, we stumbled upon some missionary work in Japan (a place that we had been praying for for many years), that fit our qualifications. So we set out on a vision trip, and my heart was torn for the missionaries there in what is called "the missionary grave yard." This has lead both me and my wife to pursue a seminary education at DTS, where we are studying for a Masters of arts in Cross Cultural Ministry.
Family
Kimberly
Kim is an amazing, administratively gifted individual. She is the backbone of our family and extremely supportive and creative. Despite being burned by the church, she whole heartedly pursues the Jesus of the Bible, and wants to lead others into that truth.
Ryan
Ryan loves Minecraft and Pokemon. He gave his life to Christ in 2019, and we are excited to see the spirit work in his life.
Cecilia
Cecilia (or CC) is a pile of cuteness sprinkled with glitter and rainbows with the determination and ferocity of a monster. She definitely knows she is cute, and uses it to get what she wants. She likes to have fun to the extreme.
